Obituary

     Otis Reynolds, Jr., age 90, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:45 AM, Monday, October 12, 2020 at his residence in Harrisburg.

    Otis was born on August 15, 1930 in Harrisburg to the late Otis Reynolds, Sr. and Amy (Lockwood) Reynolds. He married Marion Lavender on October 10, 1952 and she preceded him in death on August 30, 2005. He later married Marie (Fisk) Howard on April 24, 2008 and she survives in Harrisburg. Otis was an owner/operator of Humm & Reynolds Texaco and DHR Trucking Company. He had the honor of being the longest member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church with 90+ years of membership. Otis served his country in the Army National Guard and was also a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge, and was formerly a member of the Egyptian Shrine Club.  Otis was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger, and was always willing to help anyone in need. He wanted everyone to know how blessed he was in his life with wonderful family, spouses, friends, coworkers and neighbors. He loved to reminisce about all the memories he made with all of them.
    In addition to his wife Marie, Otis is survived by a daughter, Diane Warren and husband Steve of Murray, Kentucky; step daughter, Lonnie Baker and husband Dale of Sherman's Dale, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Brittany Howard and husband Justin of Decatur, Illinois and Adam Warren of Escondido, California; and step grand daughter, Teresa Harbold of New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania.
    Otis was preceded in death by his wife Marion, his parents, and two step-sons, Darryl and Greg Dykes.
    Funeral services for Otis Reynolds, Jr. will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Rev. Dr. Blaine Welker and Rev. Billy Dye, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 11 AM to 1 PM, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to McKinley Avenue Baptist Church and envelopes will be available at the church.
