James W. Parish, age 85, of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:55 AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at St. Louis University Hospital.
James was born on June 2, 1935 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late John H. L. and Nellie (Sakovich) Parish. He married Judith “Judy” Pickering on June 30, 1956 and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2019. James was an iron worker through Iron Workers Local #103, Evansville, Indiana and later worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation. James was a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge #325 earning the degrees of Master Mason and the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Shriners and a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. James was a hard worker and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
James is survived by two daughters, Jamie Parish of Harrisburg; and Stacey Milligan and husband, Randy of Harrisburg, five grandchildren, Amberlea Ollis and husband, Jeremy of Marion; Linsey Wood and husband, Matt of Ledbetter, Kentucky; Dallas Walker of Golconda; Mason Milligan and wife, Erin of Lexington, South Carolina; and Matthew Milligan of Harrisburg; four great grandchildren, Sebastion Fasolo of Harrisburg; Xander Fasolo of Ledbetter, Kentucky; Harlea Hull of Ledbetter, Kentucky; and Skylynne Walker of Harrisburg; one great-great grandchild, Xander Fasolo; sister Bobbie Dale and husband, David of Shawneetown; sister Maryann Evans and husband, Darrell of Shawneetown; sister-in-law, Peggy Pickering of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, “Judy”; brother, Richard Parish; brother-in-law, Bill Pickering and brother-in-law, Joe Pickering.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, Illinois. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Rev.
