Carrie Jean Allen, age 70, of Harrisburg, passed away at 2:45 PM, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at her daughter’s residence in Carrier Mills, Illinois.
Carrie was born on May 15, 1951, in Harrisburg, to the late Roy Bertrum and Emma Kathleen (Rice) Dearing. Carrie loved being a bus driver for Rides Mass Transit, the Hallmark channel, General Hospital and butterflies. She loved to play rummy with her niece and loved everything about the Royal Family, except Meghan Markle. She loved being a mother, grandmother and loved her family. She loved to help people. Carrie was sure of her salvation, she boldly stated, “I am going to heaven”.
Carrie is survived by four children, daughter, Connie Cavins and husband Robert of Carrier Mills, Illinois; son, Arnold Fonseca and fiancé Rachel of Harrisburg, Illinois; daughter, Angelina Fonseca and husband Rodney Marcum of Harrisburg, Illinois; and son Drew Allen and wife Kelsey and Carrie’s late granddog, Sarge Ray of Harrisburg, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Feazel and wife Jessica of Harrisburg, Illinois; Nicholas Feazel and wife Brea of Harrisburg, Illinois; Mackenzie Fonseca of Harrisburg, Illinois; Cameron Carnett of Harrisburg, Illinois; Kash Foles of Harrisburg, Illinois; Allissa Carnett of Harrisburg, Illinois; Travis Kiesecoms and wife Jayna of Carrier Mills, Illinois; and Collin Marcum of Harrisburg, Illinois; a host of great grandchildren; sister, Judy Murphy and husband Bill of Carrier Mills, Illinois; sister Mary Guillermo of Chicago Heights, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Darlene Dearing; and sister-in-law, Norma Dearing.
In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by her brother, Dicky Joe Dearing; brother Charles Buddy Dearing; and brother-in-law Roy Guillermo.
The family would like to give special recognition to Jessica Feazel for her selfless medical care of Carrie. She allowed the family to have several more days with her at the end of her life.
Funeral services will be held at 5 PM, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Charlie Allen will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Koman Foundation and Hospice of Southern Illinois.
