Adam Wayne Smith

June 18, 1984 ~ January 18, 2022 (age 37)

Obituary

Adam Wayne Smith was introduced to this world on June 18, 1984. He met his forever family a year later, and officially became a Smith on December 6, 1985. His body was created perfectly imperfect and his heart, larger than life. He did not have an easy start and every doctor at every turn said every day was a marvel.  And it was. From the very beginning he baffled the medical community and beat every obstacle in his way.  He spent so much time of his younger years in children’s hospitals and used his charm to make everyone he met fall in love with him.  Nurses would sing to him and pamper him. Celebrities would visit him. Doctors were in awe of him.  His life truly was a miracle.

Adam’s mom and dad sacrificed their lives to make sure that his life was the very best it could be. They introduced him to Jesus from the very beginning and it was clear that Jesus and Adam were best friends. Adam loved church and he loved to sing, but most of all he loved to pray, and it seemed that Adam had a direct line to God and the Father knew his heart and heard his prayers.

Adam loved school.  He was excited every time the yellow school bus came to pick him up.  He loved to spend time with his classmates and play games and go fishing.  He loved learning although he never really got past the color blue and the number 18.

If you knew Adam well, you also know that he loved his characters… Ernie, Elmo, Barney, Mr. Rogers, and Dora just to name a few.  And he loved his computer games and played them over and over. But one of his biggest loves was money.  He loved his dollar bills that came in every card he received and tried so hard to win big on tv game shows.  He really wanted to be a millionaire, or win eighteen dollars; he would be happy either way.

Most of all Adam loved his family.  Mom and Dad were his shining stars, and his siblings were his best supporters, although they liked to argue…. a lot. He loved his cousins and all his nieces and nephews and they loved him.  And he really loved his Grandpas who were waiting for him in heaven when he went on January 18th (of course it was the 18th!)

Adam’s family misses him terribly but are rejoicing knowing that he is running and shouting in heaven with his Savior. He leaves behind an abundance of loved ones that are waiting to reunite with him on the shores of Glory. Those waiting for that day include his grandmother, Audrey Martin of Eldorado; his parents, Virgil and Melody “Joey” Smith of Eldorado; his sister, Kelli Rego (Chris) of Harrisburg; his brother, Tyler Smith (Summer) of Effingham; nieces and nephews, Christopher Rego (Claire), Heather Ambrosio (Javier), Joshua Rego, Lillianne Rego, Carter Smith (Keely), Ryan Smith, and Jordan Smith; and great nieces and nephews, Bethany, Benjamin, and Briella Ambrosio; and Ellie and Weston Smith.
