Mary Elizabeth Carver, age 84 of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:55 PM, Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana; this beautiful woman, left this world behind to at last join her two beloved sons in forever glory. Family was EVERTHING to her. She loved and gave to us all her entire life.
Mary was born on April 5, 1935 in Collierville, Tennessee, to the late James Elmo and Mabel (Walker) Essary. She married Richard Carver and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1971, along with her two sons, Richard and Tommy Carver. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Lisa. She was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church and she worked as a Rehabilitation Aide. She was a troop leader in Harrisburg for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Debbie Kagy and husband Ken of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Betsy O’Brien of Mitchellsville, Illinois; and Patti Gregg and husband Eric of Harrisburg; sister, Brenda Voyles and husband Billy Ray of Myrtle Mississippi; eleven grandchildren, Jaylyn Fromm and husband Derrek of Harrisburg, Laura Winkleman and husband Chris of Harrisburg, Holly Kagy of Wangju, South Korea; Heather Locasha and husband David of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Paige Zaslavasky and husband David of Newburgh, Indiana; Patrick Carver of Paducah, Kentucky; Logan Gregg of Harrisburg; Leigha Smithpeters and husband Kolby of Harrisburg; Kelly Lundeen and husband Caleb of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Krystal Kagy of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and Carver Gregg of Harrisburg; numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was also preceded in death by her siblings, Kate, James, Bob, Dorothy, Chester, Lester, Carolyn, and J.T.
The family of Mary Elizabeth Carver will receive friends from 4 PM to 6 PM, Wednesday May 15, 2019 at Rudement Church. Private family services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis Tennessee on Memorial Day. For those who wish, donations may be made to Linda White Hospice in Evansville, Indiana.
