France Ellis “Frenchie” “Windy” Graham, age 92 of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:27 PM, Monday, February 25, 2019 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
France was born in Gallatin County on November 11, 1926, to the late Derice and Bessie (Hollon) Graham. He married Marida Steinsultz on March 2, 1957 and she preceded him in death on January 15, 2004. He was a coal miner and worked for Peabody Eagle 1 and Freeman Orient 3 and had previously worked for Farmer’s Supply. France was a member of the UMWA, and was a avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. France was very family oriented and never met a stranger.
France is survived by a daughter, Sherry Hinant and husband John of Harrisburg; son, Brian Graham of Harrisburg; son, Scot Graham and wife Darla of Harrisburg, two grandchildren, Eric Hinant and Abbie Graham; two step grandsons, Alex and Austen Jackson; brother, Hildred Graham; sister, Mildred Clevenger; sister-in-law, Ruby Milligan; brother-in-law, Leroy Steinsultz; sister-in-law, Freda Thomason and husband Russell; sister-in-law, Helen Graham; and sister-in-law Shirley Graham.
France was preceded in death by his wife, Marida Graham; parents, Derice and Bessie Graham; son, Jeffrey Dale Graham in infancy; brothers, Raymond, Roy, Orval, Loren, Lowell, Clyde, and Marion Graham; and a sister, Mary Leonberger.
Family visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg; and a graveside service will be held immediately following visitation to reunite France and his wife at Sunset Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Rev. Jimmy Dale Lambert will officiate.
