Elfie Dudley, age 95, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:50 PM Saturday November 3, 2018 in St. Louis University Hospital.
She was born January 6, 1923 in Harrisburg, to the late David Lee and Eva (Duncan) Duke. On December 22, 1939 she married Aaron Dudley and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1986. Elfie was an active member of the First Church of God and was a founding member of Saline Association for Retarded Citizens which had their first organizational meeting on June 8, 1954.
She is survived by her son David Dudley and wife Dawn of Galatia; son-in-law, Darrell Walker of Harrisburg; 5 grandchildren, Brent Walker of Southern Pines, NC; Jaye Shanks and husband Alex of Vienna, Il; Shannon Dudley of Galatia; Allison McCabe and husband Bryan of Galatia; and Matthew Dudley of Galatia; 5 great grandchildren, Briley and Cooper Shanks of Vienna; Hollyn and Brynn McCabe of Galatia and Aaron Walker of Southern Pines, NC; sister: Pauline Pence of Michigan; half-sister, Yvonne Miller of Harrisburg; half-brother, Darrell Duke of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Elfie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Jackie Dudley; daughter, Donna Jo Walker, sisters, June Jones and Naomi Dudley; brothers, David "Buck" Duke, Gene Duke and Bill Duke.
Services for Elfie will be 1PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Masters officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 AM to 1PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorials contributions may be made to SARC (Saline Association of Retarded Citizens) or First Church of God.
