Obituary

     Wyatt L. Drake, age 71, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:42 PM, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

     Wyatt was born in Paris, Illinois on January 19, 1950 to Artie and Dorothy (Rhoads) Drake.  He married Betty Fox on January 7, 1984, and she survives.  Wyatt was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Harrisburg.  Wyatt was employed at WDDD, WJPF/WCIL, WPRS and WEBQ AM-FM Harrisburg Radio Station where he was known as the “Voice of the Bulldogs.” Wyatt was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2005.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Wyatt loved sports.

     Wyatt is survived by his wife, Betty Drake of Harrisburg; son, Jeffrey Drake and wife Hannah of Harrisburg; sister, Deb Pratt and Ron of Troy, Illinois; sister-in-law, Betty Drake of Maryville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

     Wyatt was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike Drake.

     Funeral services for Wyatt L. Drake will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Ron Reed will officiate and burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel. All wishing to attend are asked to please wear a mask. Memorials may be made in his memory to Harrisburg High School athletics or band, Liberty Baptist Church or The Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
