Raymond Sittner, 88, of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:48 AM, Friday, July 3, 2020 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Raymond was born in Bellwood, Illinois on August 15, 1931 to the late Henry and Ella (Hockhalter) Sittner. He married Helen Jane Bellow and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2007. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a tool and die maker for Chicago Rivet & Machine Company for most of his career. He enjoyed woodworking and archery. Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great- grandfather.
Raymond is survived by two children, daughter, Lynn Johnson of Harrisburg; son, Raymond Sittner and wife, Lori of Lombard; six grandchildren, Brad Sittner; Brooke Flynn and husband, Tim; Barbie Abram and husband, Dean; Johnnie Stoffel; Stephanie Langley; and Abby Dinn; twelve great-grandchildren, Tristan, Evan, Connor, Eva, Triston, Nathan, Bailey, Ryan and wife, Lauren, Jordon, David, Luke, Andy, and Karli and husband Taylor; four great-great-grandchildren, Parker; Steeli; Evie Sue; and Oliver; sister, Virginia Terpening of Carol Stream; special nephew, Tom Sittner and wife, Bonnie of Oakbrook; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, and wife, Helen, Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Sittner; sister, Carol McLeroy; sister, Helen Ortenzi; brother, Rudy Sittner and brother, Henry Sittner.
A memorial service for Raymond Sittner will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 7 PM at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM at Reed Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
