Mary Ann Wisniewski, 60, of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL.
She was born May 1, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Valerie Wisniewski and Thomas Aldrich.
Mary Ann was an active member of Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg, IL. She especially loved her Sunday School Class, the Bible Searchers.
Mary Ann had a special love for all animals. She enjoyed talking with people about their pets and meeting them. She had her own special critters: Brenda Bear, Jonesy Dog and Tiger. Mary Ann was a hard worker. She most recently worked at CTS Fran & Friends Resale Shop and Community Day Services in Harrisburg. She loved to help out and made lots of friends everywhere she went. Mary Ann also loved taking pictures and writing to her pen pals. She was very good at cheering others up, making them laugh with her jokes and just being full of love for everyone. She would make sure you knew she was praying for you and those you cared about. Her favorite thing to do was to listen to music and to sing songs with friends. She is also very well known for her impeccable memory. If you knew Mary Ann she would know your name, the names of your family members and especially pets, no matter how long ago that might have been. She truly was an amazing friend.
In 1984, Mary Ann moved to Harrisburg, IL CRA (group home) operated by Coleman Tri-County Services, later re-named Lincoln Street CILA. She will be greatly missed by her housemates of 38 years.
Left to cherish Mary Ann’s memory is her Guardian and Best Friend, Pat Wright of Harrisburg, IL, Aunt and Uncle Barbara and Bill Wisniewski of Florida as well as Coleman Tri-County Services staff and consumers; Lincoln Street CILA family - Steven, Robin, Mike, and Staff.
A memorial service will be held on Mary Ann’s Birthday - Sunday, May 1st, 2022, beginning at 2pm in the sanctuary at Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg, IL. Reverend Dewayne Taylor will be officiating. Special music by David Higgs.
