Marjorie Catherine Jackson Tate of Fort Collins, Colorado (formerly Harrisburg Illinois) went home to be with her Lord on January 9th, 2021. She was born on April 25th, 1932 to Hubert Finley and Reba (Borum) Jackson of the Stonefort and Carrier Mills area. She was the seventh of ten siblings. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death. She married Felix Avondale Tate (deceased) of Galatia Illinois on July 29th, 1951. Their daughter Judy Marie Tate died at 15 months. She is survived by her two sons: Ralph Tate (Shelly Avery) of Loveland Colorado, John Tate (Kim Helfer Tate) of Paducah Kentucky, six grandchildren: Rachel Tate (Kaleb Martin) of Durango Colorado, Hannah and Laura Tate of Loveland Colorado, Jennifer Tate of Eldorado Illinois, Justin Tate of Temecula California, Lexie Beth (Bryan) Brinly of Paducah Kentucky, and two great-grandchildren: Braxton and Banx Brinly of Paducah Kentucky. She will be remembered for her ministry of poetry, Bible-centered sermons, and humorous skits. She enjoyed cooking fancy dishes, quilting, writing, crafting, and serving the Lord.
As per her request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Tate's Chapel Cemetery on Sunday, January 17th at 2:00 PM. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg Illinois is in charge of arrangements. Those wishing to attend should go directly to the cemetery.
