Lucille M. Rowlen, age 89 of Eldorado, passed away at 10:00 PM, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
Lucille was born on May 1, 1931 in North Manchester, Indiana to the late Sanford and Maude (Homes) Scarlett. On October 12, 1948 she married Rev. S. Frank “Bud” Rowlen in Covington, Indiana and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2010. Lucille was a pastor's wife first and foremost. She also worked as the secretary for the Harrisburg City Clerk, and was the owner of Inspirational Bible Book Store. She was a member of the Oasis Community Church of the Nazarene. Lucille enjoyed crocheting, painting and many crafts; she crocheted many hats for different cancer centers. She loved her grandchildren and all babies.
Lucille is survived by five children, Danny Rowlen and wife Linda of Houston, Texas; Stanley Francis Rowlen and wife Regina of Harrisburg; Curtis Rowlen and wife Kathy of Harrisburg; Linda Gordon of Rock Hill, South Carolina; and Julie Sturgill and husband Mike of Carterville, Illinois; ten grandchildren, Eric and Elizabeth; Jason and Nancy, Aimee; Nathan and Mandy, Beverly, Shauna, Amanda and Ryan; Rachel and Jason, Jessica and Cody; Maddie and Kyle, and Seth and Justina; twelve great grandchildren, Anastasia, Joshua, Christopher, Cassandra, Riley, Aubrey, Adalai, Emberlie, Isaac, Kenley, Maylee and Maddie, eight great, great grandchildren, Brayden, Preston, Michael, Katie, Olivia, Emily, Tray and Zay; brother, Floyd Scarlett of Michigan, and brother Johnny Scarlett of Indiana.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Rev. S. Frank “Bud” Rowlen, her parents, daughter, Pam Parr; grandson, Joey Parr; great grandson, Nathan Parr, Jr. “Little Nate”; great granddaughter, Micaela Moss and great grandson, Collins Moss; and sisters, Lou Melville, Martha West, Ann Baker, and June Nozykowski.
Funeral services for Lucille M. Rowlen will be held at 1 PM, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Gayle Stone will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 1 PM, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
