Joseph David Hull

December 26, 1932 ~ April 28, 2022 (age 89)


     Joseph David Hull, 89, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:08 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his residence.

    Joseph was born on December 26, 1932 in Eagle Creek, to the late Clifford and Frances (Evans) Hull.  He married Shirley Richey on July 12, 1957 and she survives in Harrisburg.  Joseph was a member of the Harrisburg High School graduating class of 1950. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion. Joseph was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Harrisburg First Baptist Church and served as a deacon at both Dorrisville Baptist Church and Harrisburg First Baptist Church. Joseph was a loving husband and a good provider. Although he did not have children, he treated his nieces and nephews as his own.

     Joseph is survived by his wife, Shirley Hull of Harrisburg; brother-in-law, Ted Massey of Galatia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vivian Harris; brother-in-law, Cecil Harris; sister, Shirley Massy; brother, Dwight Hull; sister-in-law, Linda Hull and niece, Sharon Rodocker.

     A memorial service for Joseph David Hull will be held at 11 AM, Monday, May 2, 2022 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Chris Winkleman will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army, the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Methodist Cemetery and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
