Freida Wandalee Steinsultz Pearcy, age 98, of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:26 AM, Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Brookstone Estates in Harrisburg, Illinois.
Wanda was born on August 2, 1922 to the late Tom and Lela (Morse) Pearce. In 1940 Wanda married Ernest Edward Steinsultz, and he preceded her in death in 1968. Wanda then married Jim Pearcy in 1975 and he preceded her in death in 1976. Wanda formerly worked at Schnierle’s Café, she also worked as a bookkeeper and salesperson for Sears and Roebuck for over thirty years. Wanda attended McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg and she was a former member of the Saline County Home Extension. Wanda loved gardening, genealogy, spending time with her grandkids, great grandkids. Wanda made beautiful quilts. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with family, which included taking cruises and going to Disney Land.
Wanda is survived by two children, son Eddie Steinsultz and wife Jody of Clarksville, Tennessee; son Sammy Steinsultz and wife Mary of Harco, Illinois; grandchildren, Samantha Parish and husband Todd; Samonica Rann; Dusky Steinsultz; Brian Steinsultz and wife Melissa; Brad Steinsultz; Scott Steinsultz and wife Stephanie; Paul Steinsultz and wife Courtney; great grandchildren, Rachel Parish, Zachary Parish, Grayson Rann, Shelby Rann, Tyler and wife Icyana Dunn, Bobbie Lewis, David McDonald, Renee McDonald, Destiny Boatright, Christopher Boatright, Brianna and husband Darin Beck, Brent Steinsultz and wife Brooke, Justeen Blacksmith, Alauna Aldrich and husband Joseph, Lane Steinsultz, Jordan Steinsultz, Reagan Steinsultz, Payson Steinsultz, Langston Steinsultz, Nadia Steinsultz; four great-great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren on the way and a brother W.T. Pearce.
In addition to her parents, and husbands Ernest and Jim, Wanda was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian (Pearce) Reynolds, brother, David Pearce, granddaughter Samilla Dunn, and a grandson-in-law Ryan Rann.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Steve Dunn will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Tuesday, May 11, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Shiners Children’s Hospital or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
