Ewing Hildred Graham, age 85 of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:00 PM, Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Harrisburg Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Hildred was born on April 20, 1934 in Gallatin County, Illinois to the late Derice and Bessie (Hollon) Graham. On September 5, 1959, he married the late Maudene Cook.
Hildred retired from Harrisburg Water and Sewer Department, where he worked for more than 24 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and the operating engineers local #318. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, word search puzzles, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats fan. Family was number one to Hildred, especially his children and grandchildren. He was always smiling and was considered by others as a humble man who never wanted to draw attention to himself.
Hildred is survived by four children, daughter, Vicki Morris and husband Mike of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; daughter, Roxanne Doyle and husband Lewis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; son, Ray Graham and wife Mindy of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and son, Roger Graham and wife Joni of Galatia, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Kris Morris of Norris City, Illinois; Trena Fleming and husband Andrew of Clarksville, Tennessee; Josiah Graham of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Ashtyn Graham of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Gavin Graham of Galatia, Illinois; Connor Graham of Galatia, Illinois; and Mackenzie Graham of Galatia, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Nate and Jayk Fleming of Clarksville, Tennessee; twin sister, Mildred Clevenger of Hillsboro, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Hildred was preceded in death by his wife, Maudene, parents, one sister and eight brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, Illinois. Pastor Ray Graham will officiate. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery in Brownsville, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Friday, January 31, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel.
