Delma Lee DeVar, age 74, of Harrisburg, formerly of Muddy, passed away at 4:30 AM, Sunday, November 29, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Harrisburg.
Delma was born on May 11, 1946 in Eldorado to the late Delmar Lee and Brennis (Price) DeVar. Delma lived most of her life in Muddy and worked at Saline Care for over thirty years and worked in everything from the kitchen to housekeeping. She retired as the Housekeeping Supervisor. Delma loved bingo, playing poker machines, painting rocks and doing crafts with Lily. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren bowl, and playing soccer and football.
Delma is survived by two children, daughter, Lisa Baker and husband, John C., of Harrisburg; son, Darrin Barton and wife, Laurie, of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Christopher Brett Barton and fiancé, Maria Panakhyo of Evansville, Indiana; Jared Butler and wife, Paige, of Marion; Dylan Butler and wife, Kaci, of Harrisburg; and Sebastian Barton of Harrisburg; three great grandchildren, Maddox Butler of Marion; Ellie Grace Butler of Harrisburg; and Luca Wayne Butler of Marion; two nephews, Robbie Henshaw of Evansville, Indiana and Clayton Penrod and wife, Courtney, of Iowa; and several cousins. Delma had a special place in her heart for Lily.
Delma was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Judy Henshaw and Brenda Penrod and nephew, Rick Henshaw.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Big Ridge Cemetery, Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate.
