Debra Kay Stubbs, 54, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:30 AM, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the home of her daughter.
Debra was born on January 3, 1966 in Eldorado, Illinois to Jerry and Beverly (Womack) Black. She married Arthur Stubbs on October 4, 1986 and he survives in Harrisburg. Debra was the Director of the Harrisburg Project at the Regional Office of Education, where she was employed for thirty-four years. Debra loved going to the beach particularly at Gulf Shores, Alabama. She was an amazing mom and nana. She always put others before herself and her grandkids were her number one.
In addition to her husband, Arthur, Debra is survived by her daughter, Nichole Stubbs of Harrisburg; her parents, Jerry and Beverly Black of Harrisburg; grandson, Noah Stubbs of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Madelyn Stubbs of Harrisburg; aunt, Rita Greer and her husband Bill of Harrisburg; and aunt Pamela Waller and her husband John of Harrisburg.
Debra was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Madeline Womack and her paternal grandparents, Clifford and Gladys Black.
Funeral services for Debra Kay Stubbs will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Keith Ital will officiate and burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
