Darrell Gene Eisenhauer, age 80, of Harrisburg, passed away at 7:20 AM, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, surrounded by his family.
Darrell was born in Pinckneyville on August 27, 1941 to Frederick and Catherine (Lacy) Eisenhauer. He married Sharon Hohl on May 4, 1973 and she survives. Darrell was employed as a Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration. After retiring from a career at the Social Security Administration, he was employed as Pastor to the Seniors at Little Chapel Church for 20 years until his retirement. He had a nursing home ministry for many years. Darrell loved helping others without any fanfare. He was known for his gentle nature and humble spirit.
Darrell loved spending time with his grandkids. They were a great joy in his life. He was extremely proud of them and his family.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Sharon Eisenhauer of Harrisburg; sons, Matt (Ann) Eisenhauer and Mike (Michelle) Eisenhauer, all of Harrisburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Luke, Walker, Grace and Reed Eisenhauer. Also surviving is sister, Mary Lou Ozburn of Pinckneyville and brother, Ross Eisenhauer of Pinckneyville. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred Eisenhauer.
Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM, Monday, October 18, 2021 at Little Chapel Church. Funeral services for Darrell Gene Eisenhauer will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Little Chapel Church. Jeff Rush and Ed Nenonen will officiate and burial will follow at Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his memory to New Hope Christian Academy. Envelopes will be available at the church.
