Arlene Fowler, 87, of Harrisburg passed away at 2:22 AM, Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Arlene was born on May 17, 1934 in Hardin County, to the late Cecil and Maudie (Fricker) Robinson. She married Charles Dwayne Fowler on November 23, 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2017. Arlene retired from Wickes Furniture in Willowbrook as a sales person.
Arlene loved her family and was loved by them and all that knew her. She is described by her family as a good-hearted person who always wanted to do the right thing. Arlene loved her cats, especially Missy. She also enjoyed flower gardening and particularly her red roses.
Arlene is survived by two daughters, Deborah O’Melia and husband, David of Anna; daughter, Sandra Patterson and husband, Michael of Dunedin, Florida; four grandchildren, Jay Vercellotti and wife, Sarah of Chandler, Indiana; Sydney Ambos and husband, James of Herrin; Ashley Ottwell and husband, Seth of Murphysboro; Colleen Ritter and husband, James of Largo, Florida; seven great grandchildren, Josh Vercellotti, Lauren Vercellotti, Brandon Ottwell, Violet Dunmire, Claire Dunmire, Mason Ritter and Nova Ritter; brother, Cecil Robinson, Jr. and wife, Thelma of Harrisburg; brother, Wiley Robinson and wife, Margie of Silva, Missouri; brother, Deon Robinson of Elizabethtown; sister, Diane Raines of Golconda; brother, David Robinson and wife, Joyce of Herod; and several nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Dolan Robinson.
Funeral services for Arlene Fowler will be held at 2 PM, Monday, May 9, 2022 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Harold Miller will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM, Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
