Wynona Rose Turner, age 75, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:45 PM, Monday, October 28, 2019 at her residence in Carrier Mills, Illinois.
Wynona was born on November 14, 1943, in Harrisburg, to the late Richard and Reva (Henninger) English. On April 23, 1965 she married Steve Turner and he survives in Carrier Mills. Wynona was saved and baptized at an early age. She raised her children in a Godly manner and always made sure they got up and attended church. She loved her God, her family and her church. Wynona was a member of Bankston Fork Baptist Church where she served as the head of the Kitchen Committee. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, working puzzle books, painting her nails and working in her flower garden. She also loved visiting Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Wynona is survived by her son, Stephen W. Turner, Jr. of West Frankfort, Illinois; four grandchildren, Samantha Susanne Turner, Sarrah Grace Turner, Taylor Bre-an Phillips and Ross Kolten Turner.
In addition to her parents, Wynona was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Rose Turcott; and a grandson, Garrett Donald Turcott.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, November 1, 2019 at Bankston Fork Baptist Church. Rev. Jody Pittman and Rev. Larry Miller will officiate and burial will follow in Bankston Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at Bankston Fork Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
