Obituary

     Randall Alan Powell, age 50, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:18 PM, Monday, November 18, 2019 at his residence in Harrisburg, Illinois.

     Randall was born on July 14, 1969, in Eldorado, to Nancy (Davis) Powell and the late Darrell F. Powell.  He was baptized and a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church. Randall worked as a tankerman on a tow boat for ten years, he then worked in mine construction and most recently was an IHSA Umpire.  He was a big baseball fan and loved being an IHSA umpire. He took excellent care of his mother following his father’s death.

       Randall is survived by his mother, Nancy Powell of Harrisburg; sister, Wendy Ellis and  husband Pervis of Harrisburg, Illinois; brother Russell Powell and wife Leslie of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Jessica Moore and husband Jess of Galatia, Illinois; Cacy Ellis of Harrisburg, Illinois; Erin Gulley and husband Clayton of Carrier Mills, Illinois; Jonathan Powell of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; David Powell of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; and Benjamin Powell of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; two great nieces, Rory and Junie Moore of Galatia, Illinois; and several cousins.

     In addition to his father, Randall was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Thelma Powell and his maternal grandparents, John and Marie Davis.

     Memorial services will be held at 7 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Russell Powell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Condolences may be left for the family on the obituary page at www.reedfuneralchapel.com.
