Linda (Davidson) Summers, 72, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:20 PM, Monday, October 21, 2019 at Shawnee Rose Nursing Home in Harrisburg, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Linda was born on May 10, 1947 in Harrisburg, to the late Rev. Rufus and Jewell Davidson. She was such a good witness and inspiration for Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She loved God and going to church. What a awesome moment when she went to Heaven and to walk the streets of gold. She was a member of the Home Extension and the Dorrisville Baptist Church of Harrisburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Gunning and husband Raymond of Harrisburg; son Brian Bennett and wife Jill of Harrisburg; and son Jeremy Bennett and wife Krysti of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Craig Gunning, Bryant Bennett, Kortney Bennett, Katelyn Bennett, Cassidy Bennett, Nolen Deaton, and Lane Deaton; three great grandchildren, Carver Gunning, Everly Bennett and Elvie Bennett; sister Marilyn Espinosa and husband Bill of Colorado; brother, Jim Davidson and wife Joanna of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Richard Davidson, and a granddaughter, Audrey Bennett.
Over the years she had many caregivers which she loved. It was her wish to recognize them and give special love to the ones that never left her side; Lynda Upchurch, Robin Lazaro and Stephanie Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Rev. Dewayne Taylor and Rev. Billy Dye, Jr. will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Dorrisville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and envelopes will be available at the church.
